Newcastle have been actively seeking their own striker following Callum Wilson's departure, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Brentford's Yoane Wissa has reportedly emerged as a target for the Magpies, with reports suggesting a £40million offer was turned down by the Bees.

Fresh developments in Newcastle's striker hunt could now provide Liverpool with renewed hope of securing Isak further down the line.

According to the Express and Star, Newcastle are "pushing" to sign Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Wolves would reportedly demand £60million before entertaining any departure for the Norway international.

Newcastle are said to be determined to land Strand Larsen as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements.

Whether the Magpies view Strand Larsen as a potential successor to Isak, however, remains unclear.
