A Liverpool midfielder could be set to leave the club before the end of the January transfer window. It’s been thought that may dip into the market to bring a midfielder into the club, but, in fact, the opposite could happen before the window shuts. According to Brighton has registered interest in brining to the coast, but will not pay for the 29-year-old. He is free to walk away from Liverpool for nothing at the end of the season, but Jürgen Klopp's side could theoretically still command a fee in January. The Brighton proposal, effectively a $0 transfer bid, would at least allow Liverpool to remove Oxlade-Chamberlain's salary from the wage bill.
He is expected to be a fringe option once again following the acquisition of Cody Gakpo. Brighton, it’s thought, has identified Oxlade-Chamberlain as a replacement for Leandro Trossard, who joined Arsenal last week.
