Fernando Morientes has already told his former club Liverpool why Rodrygo could be the perfect signing this summer as Real Madrid looks as though it could offload the Brazilian.

Speculation is growing around Rodrygo’s future as he looks to have fallen further out of favor with Real.

It’s also suggested that Rodrygo wants to stay in Europe if he does leave the Bernabeu, and that he may be prioritizing a move to the Premier League.

That could well open the door for Liverpool, with the Reds having been linked along with Manchester City and Arsenal - the latter has been touted as the favorite to land his signature in some quarters, although the Reds do have previous with Rodrygo.

The player revealed last year he came close to joining Liverpool as a youngster back in 2017, with his agent even going as far as to claim Jurgen Klopp flew to Brazil in order to try and entice him on a move to Anfield.

Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid are reportedly open to letting Rodrygo leave this summer.

If the opportunity is open again though, Morientes feels Liverpool should take it.

The former Spain international played for both the Reds and Real during his career, and while he feels Rodrygo’s signing might cause a headache for Mohamed Salah, he also believes the Brazilian would be a perfect fit in the Premier League.
