Liverpool will block any attempts to sign Joe Gomez in the final days of the transfer window, despite interest in the player.

Reports have claimed the defender is a target for Crystal Palace and AC Milan before the window shuts on the Monday, with the latter using Gomez as a makeweight in any potential deal for Marc Guehi.
However, Liverpool.com understands that will not be the case, with the Reds standing firm on Gomez given the lack of options at center-back.
Given the latter has played just 17 top-flight games in his career and will likely take time to settle into the Premier League, there is an obvious reluctance to allow Gomez to leave.
“It’s not possible at the moment to find a Marc Guehi replacement who can play straight in the Premier League,” said the Austrian ahead of Sunday’s game against Aston Villa.
However, Liverpool.com understands Palace this week made an approach for Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji, while reports have claimed Toulouse's Jaydee Canvot is a target.
