Liverpool has identified three striker targets as Arne Slot plots one final splash in what has already been an exciting window for the Premier League champion, and has apparently told Hugo Ekitike to be patient and wait for the club to sell players before making a move.
The Reds have already splashed the cash on Florian Wirtz - in what could be a British transfer record - as well as Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.
But regardless of those additions, it's thought Liverpool still needs to sign a central striker.
Despite splashing $159 million on Wirtz, taking its spending to over $200 million for the window so far, it's thought Liverpool could still end the summer in profit.
Should all those deals materialize, as well as Nunez's departure, Liverpool would still have cash in the bank to burn.
And according to Sky Sports Germany, Liverpool has identified Ekitike, Alexander Isak and Victor Osimhen as possible targets
According to the report, Liverpool has told Ekitike that players will need to be sold to raise funds before a striker is signed.
Osimhen is facing an uncertain future at Napoli and seems destined to depart - considering the Italian champion has Antonio Conte-favorite Romelu Lukaku in that position already
Isak would likely cost in excess of $200 million by himself, when wages, transfer fee and agent fees are added up, and it's unlikely Liverpool will commit to such an outlay.
However, one thing to consider would be that Liverpool will basically be unopposed in its bid for Isak, whereas Arsenal has been heavily linked with Ekitike and has been tipped to make a move in the coming weeks
