Liverpool has reportedly set an asking price of £70million ($95M) for Darwin Nunez, with the forward’s exit on Tuesday still a possibility.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, which states Al-Hilal is keen on the striker.

The Saudi Arabian side is set to compete in the Club World and, should it hope to complete a transfer for the Liverpool no.9, a deal must be reached before 19:00 BST (14:00 ET).

The US-based tournament begins next week, with Al-Hilal’s opening game on June 18 against Real Madrid, before it faces RB Salzburg and Pachuca in the group stages.

Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres are also targets for Al-Hilal, states the Mail, with Liverpool’s asking price a possible stumbling block.

The Reds are “looking at opportunities to offset their spending” and have set a higher asking price for Nunez than the $95M fellow Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr offered in January, claims the report.

Nunez is said to have attracted interest from a number of clubs, but it’s widely expected a move to Saudi Arabia seems his most viable option this summer, certainly given Liverpool’s reported valuation of the player.

The 25-year-old endured a difficult campaign at Anfield, ultimately falling down the pecking order under Arne Slot

Nunez could have played his final game for Liverpool

Nunez was one of the few fringe members of the squad not handed a starting berth after the title was secured in April.

The likes of Jarell Quansah, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa were afforded extra minutes in the final weeks of the season, unlike the former Benfica man.

Liverpool has been linked with moves for several strikers this summer, including Osimhen and Gyokeres

Hugo Ekitike is perhaps the name that continues to be mentioned most frequently in reports.

But The Athletic states that whether Liverpool adds a center forward could be dependent on departures, with Nunez among those the club is willing to listen to offers for.

Jeremie Frimpong has already sealed his move to Liverpool, with Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez expected to follow suit as Slot reshuffles the squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp.
