Liverpool have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Alexander Isak as he continues to push for a move away from Newcastle.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson explained that talks have taken place with the 25-year-old’s camp and an agreement has been reached on the terms of a deal “weeks ago”.
Now, following the £46.3million sale of Darwin Nunez to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal, the Reds are expected to make advances towards a deal with Newcastle.
Football Insider revealed on 2 August that Liverpool will “shatter” the British transfer record in their pursuit of Isak and with an offer in excess of £120million.

The Sweden international has made clear his desire to leave Newcastle this summer and has yet to return to first-team training as he seeks a move away.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 18 July that Newcastle feel Liverpool were trying to unsettle Isak by making a public move to sign him earlier last month.
Football Insider revealed on 28 July that Liverpool are increasingly “confident” of signing Isak and are planning to lodge a new bid imminently.

Additional funds from the sales of Nunez and Luis Diaz are expected to bolster their ambitions, while the striker’s desire to join remains the key to the move.
Robinson explained that he now cannot see any other scenario than Isak making the move to Anfield despite the ongoing uncertainty.
“Liverpool were waiting for Luis Diaz to go, now Diaz has gone,” he told Football Insider.
“Then they were waiting for Nunez to go, Nunez has gone to Al-Hilal for £46million.

“When you weigh everything up, when you’ve been in the game and you know how transfers work, you look at it, it was just a case of Diaz and Nunez going.
“The funds are there for Liverpool, and the wages aren’t going to be a problem.
“The wages have been agreed weeks ago and talks have happened.
“I can’t see anything other than Alexander Isak being a Liverpool player, and I think without directly saying it, you can see he wants the move as well.”
With Nunez and Diaz both leaving the club in the closing stages of the window, they could now be followed out of the door by Harvey Elliott.
Football Insider revealed on 8 August that Tottenham could hijack RB Leipzig’s move for Elliott, who has emerged as a target following James Maddison’s injury.

Leipzig are believed to be the current front-runners in the race to sign the England international, but Spurs are keeping a close eye on the situation with a move in mind.
This comes after former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 4 August that Tottenham are working to replace Maddison before the window closes.
