That is in addition to Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes holding a similar position at Bournemouth before moving clubs, with a mutual respect thought to remain between the two parties.
All signs point towards Kerkez being Liverpool's next acquisition, with the only stumbling block remaining being a fee to Bournemouth.
The Cherries are thought to be holding out for a figure in the region of £40m.
The 21-year-old would be expected to compete with Robertson for a starting role under Slot and has already underlined his ambition to play at a higher level.
He told The Athletic in March: “It's not like I don't see it (transfer comments).
When people say they don't see stuff if someone says something about you, I think it's a lie.
If someone says something bad, I do my job, and if someone says something good, I just do my job.
