Liverpool face Arsenal in a crunch match right before the International break.

The Reds have a 100% record at the start of the new season, but they are very lucky to be in this position given how they have actually performed.

They required late goals in both their opening fixtures to earn them all three points, while also conceding two in each.

As for their opponents on Sunday, Arsenal, they edged past Manchester United but then thumped Leeds 5-0 at home last weekend, giving them confidence heading into this one.

However, Arne Slot may have just made a quiet tactical change that can help Liverpool beat their rivals, with the aim being to nullify their biggest threat.

Although Arsenal also have six points from a possible six, they equally have not been the most impressive, with the Gunners heavily reliant on set pieces.

They have scored three already this season, meaning that since Mikel Arteta took over, they have netted 33 times from corners, 20 more than any other Premier League team according to Sky Sports.

As for Liverpool, they are yet to score from one this season, but have conceded from two set pieces already, a statistic that will likely increase on Sunday.

However, Slot has made a change that might benefit the Reds significantly, with Aaron Briggs the new set-piece coach as per The Athletic.

Briggs was the individual development coach, but with the arrival of Luiz Fernando Iubel, he now takes up a new role.

Liverpool wanted a set-piece coach last season but failed to find a suitable candidate, with this meaning that Briggs can focus solely on this issue and hopefully resolve any problems.

A lot has been said about Liverpool’s defence this season, but equally Arsenal have not been the most convincing going forward.

But, based on all the signs shown from both sides so far, if the Reds manage to stop them from set pieces, then they should manage to beat them due to their attacking threat.

They have only failed to score in one Premier League game since Slot took charge, and based on how attacking they have been so far, they do not look like stopping.

With this right before the International break, it would be the perfect game to win, especially over their rivals, but winning duels in the air is a battle that Liverpool must win if they stand a chance.
