Liverpool are shrewd negotiators in the transfer market and very rarely get things wrong.
Ever since Michael Edwards came to the Reds, supporters have been able to remain relatively calm as they can trust him to make the right deals.
The same can now be said for Richard Hughes this summer as the baton has clearly been passed on to good effect, with some of the transfer business Liverpool have already done being spectacular.
However, every once in a while, one may slip through the net, and later down the line they may come back to rue their decision of not signing a player.
West Ham’s Mohamed Kudus might be one of these as he is very nearly a new Tottenham Hotspur player, with Arne Slot’s previous comment on the Ghanaian making many wonder why Liverpool did not do more to try and sign him.

Kudus had been linked with a move to Anfield for quite a while, even dating as far back as during his time at Ajax.
Since joining the Hammers, he has shown why there was strong interest, with the 24-year-old excelling and setting the Premier League alight.
In fact, he impressed so much during the Reds’ meeting with them towards the back end of last season that the whole Liverpool squad were hugely impressed, and not for the first time.

“Kudus was almost uncontrollable,” Slot said after the game as per journalist Dominic King.

“He’s been making a big impression on Liverpool’s squad for a long, long time.
“The dressing room was raving about his quality after Ajax played at Anfield in September 2022 and he scored.”
However, it appears as though they have lost out on a quality player who could really have made a difference in the squad, as well as an individual already well-liked among the players.
The Reds are expecting somewhat of an attacking overhaul this summer, meaning Kudus could have fitted right in.
The Ghanaian can play anywhere along the front line, with versatility a key trait needed to be successful in a Slot team.
With Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez also very likely to depart, he would get minutes, especially as his style of play suits the team.
He is pacy, energetic and incredibly skilful, with his attacking prowess in the final third hugely damaging to defenders trying to stop him in his path.
Spurs have certainly got a very talented player on their hands and despite the 24-year-old having a slight downturn in form last season, it would be no surprise to see Liverpool regret not signing him in years to come.
