Paul Robinson has claimed Liverpool have “major problems” after Thiago Alcantara suggested the squad are physically and mentally exhausted. Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the signing of a midfielder will not solve the Reds’ season. Jurgen Klopp’s side lost further ground in the race for the top four after a goalless draw with Chelsea on Saturday (21 January). As quoted by the (22 January), Thiago revealed last season’s exploits have had a “physical” and “psychological” impact on the players. The centre-midfielder stressed the importance of taking the rest of the season “game by game.” When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Liverpool’s problems, Robinson said: “Liverpool’s situation is not going to be solved by signing a midfielder.
There is some major problems there now and they will not be fixed overnight.”
