However, after a new update has just emerged from Germany, things could be about change dramatically.
Even though Liverpool want to keep Diaz among their ranks, so far, there have been no signs from the Merseyside outfit that they’d like to extend his stay.
“There will be a meeting between Bayern and Liverpool for negotiations for a transfer of Luis Díaz (28) soon,” Falk wrote via his personal X account.
Should Liverpool get their desired player, they can invest the transfer fee of Díaz.”
Even though Liverpool rates Diaz at around £87million, if an offer over the £70million mark comes in, then it should be strongly considered.
However, now that Diaz has handed in a transfer request and has made his stance more than clear, it feels like the best thing Slot could do is sell him and reinvest it into his replacement.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store, but for now, Diaz seems to be more out than in.
