The rivalry Liverpool hold with Chelsea will never be as fierce nor as passionate as their enmity with Everton or Manchester United.
The sides contested three Champions League semi-finals between 2005 and 2008 and Chelsea provided the opposition on the night Liverpool were crowned champions of England for the 19 th time.
The visitors led for 23 minutes at Anfield, Liverpool returned the favour for 36 minutes at Stamford Bridge and neither side was able to break the deadlock in the League Cup final.

It would be a surprise if it’s not another close encounter this weekend.
There’s no doubt that some of the Reds’ defining matches in the last 20 years have been against the Blues from west London though.
Liverpool’s first (and hopefully not last) trophy of 2021/22 was won against Chelsea, and Saturday’s FA Cup final against them will be the first for the Reds since they lost to the same opponents 10 years ago.
