Liverpool have just a couple of days left to complete their transfer business this summer as Arne Slot looks to make last minute additions to his squad.

It means that Liverpool could possibly start planning to integrate Guehi into the squad and team.

One of the first decisions to make if a deal is completed is what squad number the player will take.

The centre-back currently wears number six for both Palace and England, that number is however already taken at Liverpool by Milos Kerkez.

Guehi has also previously worn number five and number two during his time at Swansea City, but those numbers are also unavailable at Anfield with Ibrahima Konate and Gomez wearing them.

If he does move to Liverpool this summer, Guehi could be given the possibility of going back to his first ever squad number when he made the breakthrough into the Chelsea first team.

The centre-back made just two first team appearances for the Blues but did so wearing the number 44.

That squad number is available at Liverpool, with Luke Chambers the last to wear it in the 2023/24 season.

There is another option for Guehi too in wearing the number 16 shirt at Liverpool, with the centre-back wearing the same number for England during some of his appearances for the national team last season.

Transfer deadline day is almost upon us and Liverpool still have business to do.

Liverpool remain interested in a deal for the Swede.

Meanwhile, Marc Guehi has been a player of interest all summer and Liverpool could still launch a last-minute deal for the Crystal Palace defender.
