Liverpool have had a lot to celebrate lately.
Winning the Premier League took the total number of league titles level with Manchester United’s 20.
It’s a huge trophy in Arne Slot’s first season in English football, with many having predicted difficult times for the Dutchman replacing club icon Jurgen Klopp.
Slot is celebrating accordingly, having been spotted partying in Ibiza.
Liverpool’s players are also living it up in Dubai, although the reason for the trip has divided fans.
It’s not been rare lately for Liverpool to have one up on bitter rivals Manchester United, either.

United have had a torrid time of it since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, with the club sinking to a new low as a disastrous 17th place finish is on the cards.
Meanwhile Liverpool have been going from strength-to-strength, boasting Mo Salah as the best player in the Premier League this season.
Fans have yet another reason to be smug too, as a statistic has emerged that makes Liverpool’s dominance over Manchester United even more impressive.

Net spend statistics over the last ten years are absolutely damning reading for Manchester United.
They top the Premier League since 2015/16, having an eye-watering net spend of £1.04 billion.
In comparison, Liverpool lie 8th with £354m.
That’s only £49m more than Bournemouth, for context.
Clubs ahead of Liverpool for net spend include Chelsea (2nd with £880m), Manchester City (3rd with £874m) and Arsenal (4th with £717m).
Tottenham Hotspur (5th with £575m), Newcastle United (6th with £469m) and West Ham United (7th with £459m) round out the rest of the teams ahead of Liverpool on net spend.
No Premier League club is in the green on net spend over the last ten years, but Brentford come closest with just £48m net spend in total.

Liverpool’s standing is even more impressive compared to Manchester City, who have been the dominant force in the Premier League – only challenged by the Reds on a much tighter budget.
The club’s owners, FSG, have come under criticism for their ownership and spending at times, but it’s clear they still run a tightly managed and efficient operation.
Liverpool fans have had plenty to say about the club’s placement for net spend in the Premier League.
One Red praised the club’s record: “Being sustainable is grossly underrated but I love it.
It takes an immense amount of discipline to not give into FOMO (fear of missing out) to achieve this.”
Another fan agreed: “Part of our success has been signing the right players once, instead of the wrong players multiple times.”
While one supporter pointed out how the statistic could be twisted: “When things are not going well, this statistic can be turned on its head to make it look like the owners (no matter how well they have run things) are the evil ones and simply syphoning off money from the club.

“So when it’s going great, this statistic proves the model.
But when it’s going awful, it’s damning for the owners and leadership.
