As the summer transfer window edges closer, the next chapters for several former Liverpool players remain uncertain, with some already packing their bags and others waiting for their next opportunity.
West Ham United released former Reds striker Danny Ings.
The 32-year-old, who joined the Hammers from Aston Villa in January 2023, netted five times in 69 appearances and played a part in West Ham’s memorable UEFA Europa Conference League triumph in 2023.
Ings is reportedly in talks with Wrexham, who will be playing in the Championship next term
Elsewhere, Divock Origi finds himself on the outside at AC Milan.
The Belgian forward has been left out of the first-team setup for the 2024-25 campaign and hasn’t featured for either the senior squad or Milan’s Under-23 side.
According to reports, he’s been training on his own, away from the club’s main facilities, as he searches for clarity on his future.
And now a Liverpool legend in Sadio Mane is being outcasted by Al Nassr.
According to the Mirror, Al Nassr have informed Sadio Mane he is free to leave this summer as part of a dramatic squad rebuild aimed at ending their six-year trophy drought and securing marquee signings like Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
Since their last Saudi Pro League title in 2018–19, Al Nassr have become perennial nearly-men, finishing third in 2024–25 (70 points) behind champions Al-Ittihad (83 points) and runners-up Al-Hilal (75 points).
Their continental ambitions also collapsed spectacularly this season, with a 3-2 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals.
Mane, now 33, arrived in August 2023 on a £34 million deal from Bayern Munich, contributing 18 goals and 14 assists in 47 appearances last season.
Despite his £558,000-a-week wages, Mane is said to have attracted interest from both Fenerbahçe and Qatari clubs, though Al Nassr will demand at least €15 million for his services.
Strangely, Mane decided to pull out of Senegal’s upcoming clash with England, citing personal reasons.
Senegal coach Pape Thiaw said of the former Liverpool man’s decision:
“It is a personal decision that belongs to Mane – and I respect it as a coach.
Sadio is a very important player for us.”
“But I don’t coach one player, I coach 26 players, and so the most important thing is the collective?
I have put together a squad of players who are available and ready to fight with pride for the national jersey.”
