Liverpool resisted the aggressive onslaught from Saudi Arabia to snatch Mohamed Salah away from the club this summer. However, that doesn't mean the saga is over. Saudi Arabia will be desperate to lure a player like Salah to the league, and as they have proven this summer they are not messing around. Salah is irreplicable, but Liverpool has always operated on generating income through player sales, and selling an asset like him could help Liverpool rebuild the squad and potentially make it even stronger, just like Tottenham has done this summer after selling Harry Kane, or Liverpool did when the club sold to Barcelona.
The club signed a partnership deal back in the summer of 2021 with the biggest Japanese and one of the biggest publishers in the world Kodansha.
Clearly, both sides are pleased with the project so far with Kodansha and Liverpool agreeing to extend the partnership ahead of schedule earlier this summer. Signing Kubo, who is one of the most popular Japanese footballers would only help Kodansha's partnership with Liverpool thrive further.
