Liverpool have reportedly identified two transfer alternatives to Marc Guehi.

The Crystal Palace defender has entered the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, but the Eagles are still holding firm on their valuation of their captain this summer.

Guehi has admirers at Liverpool but Palace's valuation of £65million, may make the Reds look elsewhere.

According to journalist David Lynch, the club has a 'clear desire' to add a young centre-back with 'room to grow' to Arne Slot's squad.

Parma's Giovanni Leoni and Wolfsburg's Konstantinos Koulierakis have reportedly been scouted by club officials.

If they cannot sign the Palace captain, Lynch explains Liverpool would 'revert to their preferred profile' at centre-back, which the aforementioned duo reportedly fit.

Defence is a position the club may look to reinforce, as uncertainty remains over Ibrahima Konate, who has entered the final year of his contract.

That said, Palace have been demoted to the Europa Conference League following UEFA's decision

Part-owner John Textor holds a conflicting controlling stake in French club Lyon, who qualified for the same European competition through their domestic league.

That decision may affect the Eagles' stance on Guehi or lead him to reconsider his desire to stay in his current environment.

Elsewhere, Portuguese newspaper A Bola, citing Spanish sources, reports that Alexis Mac Allister is a transfer target for Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid this summer.

Following the Spanish giants' exit from the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals, Alonso, the former Reds' midfielder, is said to have identified key areas to strengthen ahead of the new season.

He is believed to specifically want to add a new midfielder and has reportedly singled out Mac Allister as a potential candidate.

However, the Argentine World Cup winner is valued at over €100m (£86m), a fee Real can only meet if they first sell Rodrygo.
