Alexander Isak's fitness will be carefully managed on international duty after the striker completed his Liverpool transfer.

The forward completed a £125million move to Anfield on deadline day after an intense saga endured throughout the summer.

After signing on the dotted line, Isak quickly travelled to join up with Sweden for international duty.



The Nordic nation take on Slovenia and Kosovo in World Cup qualifiers during the international break.

But there is uncertainty over the role Isak will play.

The 25-year-old has trained alone in recent months, steering clear of Newcastle's first team since missing the club's pre-season tour of Asia.

Isak, who has 16 goals in his 52 Sweden caps, is likely to be short of match fitness having not played since the final Premier League match of last season.
