Bournemouth have had a successful season.
Andoni Iraola has been a revelation for the Cherries guiding Bournemouth to their highest points tally so far in their eight seasons in the Premier League.
Their 33 points from their opening 20 games was also the best start they have ever made in the league.
Whilst the manager has shown his quality, the talent of players within the Bournemouth squad is also important to mention.
Talent that is attracting serious interest from Europe’s biggest clubs.
Milos Kerkez has emerged as Liverpool’s primary target for the left-back position, whilst Liverpool’s interest in centre-back Dean Huijsen ended this week after his move to Real Madrid was confirmed.
Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has already announced that he won’t step in the way of any players who wish to leave, making potential negotiations to sign Kerkez just that little bit easier.
The potential signing of Milos Kerkez would likely open the exit door for Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas, so it remains to be seen what happens regarding that situation.
There have been regular reports for a couple months now linking to Liverpool to Milos Kerkez but progress sems to be slow.
Liverpool have shown that they are quick to advance with a player if they want to, evident in the closure of the Jeremie Frimpong deal yesterday after only a couple weeks of reported interest.
Whilst rumours have been circling, Northern Football Correspondent Mark Douglas seems to have now provided a significant update on Milos Kerkez.
He has stated that talks between Liverpool and Bournemouth over Milos Kerkez have now taken place with the defender valued at £45m.
Douglas goes on to reveal that despite talks between the two clubs taking place in recent weeks, the Reds are yet to table a firm offer, with Liverpool also considering Ajax’s Jorrel Hato, who would be available for less than the £45m Bournemouth are currently asking for.
Such premium prices for Bournemouth’s stars is linked to the ownership of the club believing they are in the middle of an ambitious project that is going places, leaving them unwilling to let go of these players for prices that they deem to be too cheap.
News that will excite Liverpool fans as Kerkez has been one of the best left backs in the league this season, shining in a talented Bournemouth side that has impressed for large periods of the current campaign.
The Cherries currently find themselves in 10th position, just outside the European football places, but with two games remaining, they still have a lot to play for.
