The Reds can put the pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side at the top of the table this weekend, with City in FA Cup action instead.
The issue is not as bad as first feared though, and he’s expected back in training at the start of May.
Possible return date: Tottenham on May 5 or Aston Villa on May 13.
Ben Doak
Ben Doak has been missing for some time now.
The 18-year-old was handed a few opportunities earlier in the season, having impressed last year and during pre-season.
The teenager though underwent surgery on a knee problem in December.
That effectively brought a premature end to his season, although he did post a picture of himself back at the club’s training ground recently.
Possible return date: Unknown.
Joël Matip and Thiago Alcântara
We’ve probably already seen the last of Joël Matip and Thiago Alcântara this season.
Chances are, we might have seen the last of both players in a Liverpool shirt as well.
Both look highly unlikely to feature again this season, with Klopp admitting the season will not be long enough for Matip to make a return despite having been back running at the AXA Training Centre.
Given their ages and their injury records, it does seem likely both will be moved on.
Possible return dates: Pre-season.
