Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Brentford center-back Nathan Collins as a potential addition to their squad this summer.

The Reds are looking to strengthen their defense ahead of the new season, and Collins is believed to be one of the names on their list.

However, any deal for the Republic of Ireland international looks tough to pull off at this stage.

In fact, those close to the club believe the situation is pretty clear — Collins is going nowhere.

Since arriving from Wolves last year for £23 million, Collins has quickly become a key player at the back for Brentford.

With Joel Matip gone and Ibrahima Konate often battling injuries, a player like Collins could fit the bill.

He won the most aerial duels per game at Brentford last season (3.1), made nearly six clearances per match, and even chipped in with three assists.

Despite the buzz, Collins still has four years left on his contract, and he’s shown no signs of wanting out.

Unless Brentford change their stance — or Liverpool bring out a blockbuster offer — this one looks like a non-starter.
