Liverpool has confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave the club this summer on a free transfer after opting not to agree a contract extension.
The defender's future has been the source of much speculation in recent months with Real Madrid keen on signing him when his contract expires.
It has emerged in recent months that the La Liga giants were growing increasingly confident of reaching an agreement, having been able to speak to Alexander-Arnold since January.
He has returned to the fold in recent weeks after injury and scored in the win over Leicester, before Liverpool celebrated winning the Premier League title last weekend.

But it has now been confirmed that he will depart this summer and is seemingly heading for the Bernabeu to take the next steps in his career.
A statement on the club's website read: "Trent Alexander-Arnold has informed Liverpool FC of his intention to leave the club this summer upon the expiry of his current contract.
"The 26-year-old will bring his two-decade-long association with the Reds to an end having made the decision to depart Anfield once his deal ceases on June 30, 2025.
"Alexander-Arnold will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for his contribution during a sustained period of success."
The defender shared an emotional message on social media to thank Liverpool supporters and explain the reasons behind his decision.
He wrote: "After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, now is the time for me to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season.
