Graeme Souness is set to make a return to TV punditry - and will go head-to-head with Roy Keane. Souness will be back on the telly, giving his thoughts on Liverpool's FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester United this Sunday.

The ex-Sky Sports pundit took a step back from TV duties at the end of last season. He'd been working for the broadcaster for 15 years before he said goodbye last April and has mostly been talking about football on the radio this season. Souness, 70, is still a big name at Anfield because of his time as both a player and a manager, and it's now been revealed that he is likely to be part of the ITV team for this weekend's big game at Old Trafford, according to The Mail.

Liverpool are heading into the match level on points with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and with the Carabao Cup already in their trophy cabinet this season. A win against United means Jurgen Klopp would have a brilliant chance to win all three domestic trophies in his final season in charge, with the German boss set to leave in the summer.

Souness said last summer that his departure from Sky was a decision they both agreed on, although he was open to staying on for another year. He made it clear, though, that he wasn't planning to retire and, as such, was open to more opportunities.

"[It was] mutual. I mean, I was keen to stay another year," Souness told The Guardian. "They thought it would be a good idea that we called it a day, gave their reasons and I accepted that and have zero complaints about Sky. I worked for them maybe 15 years solid but it's more like 20 years. They've been great for me, gave me the weekends to look forward to, the buzz of live football. Yes [I'll miss it]. But I'm talking to other people and we'll go again. There's life in the old dog yet."

Souness clocked up over 350 appearances for Liverpool during his playing career, winning five league titles. He returned to Anfield as manager after hanging up his boots and won the FA Cup back in 1992.

Liverpool and Manchester United are two of the biggest teams left in this year's competition. Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle, Wolves and Championship duo Coventry City and Leicester makeup the final eight.
