Jamie Carragher has shared a marriage update after celebrating two decades of wedded bliss with wife Nicola Carragher.

The former Liverpool defender regularly shares updates from his personal life on social media.

Jamie and Nicola tied the knot at Weston Park, a 17th century stately home on the Staffordshire-Shropshire border, on July 1, 2005 - 20 years today.



Last year, the 20-year-old featured in Channel 4 drama The Gathering, which was filmed across Merseyside, in two episodes as Tash.

She also played the lead character of Liv in short film The Watering Hole, which has was selected for the BIFA qualifying North East International Film Festival in November 2024.

Carragher shared pictures of him and Nicola to Instagram, showing different stages of their relationship together.

He wrote: "twenty years married to my girl @nicolacarragher.

"I wouldn’t have believed twenty years ago babe that you’d become my best mate, advisor, the one who makes me laugh, number 1 supporter & most importantly my drinking & dancing partner!

Love youse both @NicolaCarragher @23_Carra happy anniversary." Another said "congratulations to an amazing couple that get stronger as they go along, what a team the Carras."

According to the footballer's autobiography, Jamie had to ask Nicola to marry him twice after his first proposal went wrong when he got an incorrectly-sized ring and a mis-wrapped present.

In March, Carragher acknowledged Nicola to mark Mother's Day.

He wrote on social media: "#happymothersday @nicolacarragher you have & continue to do a brilliant job with our two kids & we are all very lucky to have you."

The 47-year-old has a close bond with his family and in recent weeks has supported Nicola on her marathon journey after she completed the Tokyo marathon.
