Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been named the recipient of Athletic Club's prestigious One-Club Man award for 2025. This accolade honors players who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment by dedicating their entire professional career to a single club.

Carragher spent his whole playing career at Liverpool, making 737 appearances—the second highest in the club’s history behind Ian Callaghan. A product of Liverpool’s youth academy, he debuted in January 1997 and quickly became a key figure in the squad by the early 2000s.

He was integral to Liverpool's historic 2000-01 season, featuring in 58 of 63 matches as the team secured a treble of the League Cup, FA Cup, and UEFA Cup trophies. Later successes included winning the UEFA Super Cup in 2001 and a second League Cup in 2003. Under Rafael Benitez, Carragher transitioned from full-back to center-half and was pivotal in Liverpool’s memorable 2005 Champions League triumph in Istanbul, a historic victory celebrated worldwide.

Carragher also helped Liverpool win another FA Cup in 2006 and played in the 2007 Champions League final, though Liverpool lost to AC Milan. Beyond his playing career, Carragher expressed great pride in receiving this award from Athletic Club, a unique honor coming from a club that celebrates loyalty across football.

The One-Club Man award, established in 2015, recognizes players like Paulo Maldini of AC Milan, and since 2019 also includes a women’s category. Carragher will receive the award at Athletic Club’s home game against Girona on September 24, 2025. He regards this recognition as a significant personal achievement, emphasizing his lifelong dedication to Liverpool[1][2][3][4][5].
