Liverpool legend John Aldridge has made a personal visit to Anfield to pay his respects to Diogo Jota and lay a floral tribute.
Jota was killed in the early hours of Thursday morning (July 3), along with his brother, Andre Silva, after they were involved in a car crash.
They had been travelling across Spain in order to catch a ferry to return to England for the start of Liverpool's pre-season when their vehicle veered off the road following a tyre blowout.
The majority of Arne Slot's squad travelled to Jota's hometown of Gondomar over the weekend to attend the funeral.

And ECHO columnist Aldridge paid a visit to Anfield on Monday afternoon to pay his own respects.
The Reds legend, who is the chairman of Liverpool FC’s official former players association, ‘Forever Reds’, laid a floral tribute alongside hundreds of flowers, scarves, banners, shirts, pictures and other tributes in honour of Jota and his brother on behalf of the club’s former players.
The card included with the floral tribute read: “Rest in peace Diogo and Andre.
YNWA, from John Aldridge and everyone at the former players’ association, Forever Reds.”

He also signed the club’s book of condolences - which will remain open until at least 8pm on Tuesday (July 8) - prior to travelling to Portugal with his former team-mates for the funeral.
