Arne Slot will inherit a Liverpool side already full of talent.

But the manner in which Liverpool has fallen short at least sets a slightly less impossible expectation for Slot, while underlining exactly where the existing squad can still get better.

Don't expect overly drastic tactical changes.



But no two head coaches share the exact same vision, and while Slot's Feyenoord share many characteristics with Klopp's Liverpool, his arrival on Merseyside will no doubt shake things up a little.

Given the success Klopp has had over the last eight-and-a-half years, it's impossible to guarantee that it will be a positive change.

There are no immediately obvious candidates in terms of the formation, with Feyenoord setting up in a broadly similar manner to Liverpool — the 4-3-3 sometimes looks like a 4-2-3-1, though, so perhaps the likes of Harvey Elliott or indeed Fábio Carvalho could get some chances behind the striker.

While Gravenberch has never really staked much of a claim to a regular starting place in his time at Liverpool so far, Gakpo has been hammering on the door at various points, and will end the season as one of the form forwards.

Slot arrives with the forward in a good moment, and the coach will be well aware of the 25-year-old's talent, with the Liverpool man scoring or assisting 13 per cent of the goals Feyenoord conceded throughout its title-winning season in just a single game during his PSV days.

If Slot really can improve Gravenberch too, then that would be great.
