Jeremie Frimpong hasn’t even trained with his new Liverpool team-mates yet, never mind played a game for the club.
However, with Mohamed Salah set to depart for Africa Cup of Nations duty in December, Frimpong will also be an attacking option in Liverpool’s front three.

But Reds legend Steve Nicol is not convinced by the Netherlands international's arrival.
The former Scotland international, who won four league titles, the European Cup and three FA Cups with Liverpool, is regarded as one of the club’s greatest ever full-backs.
And the 63-year-old has taken issue with Frimpong’s defensive abilities, admitting he is worried that the Dutchman will ‘get in Salah’s way’ and does not see how he fits in at Liverpool.
“Yeah, (it’s Frimpong or Bradley who start) if Salah’s fit,” Nicol told ESPN.
“If Salah’s not fit then Frimpong starts where Salah plays.

“In the starting XI, everybody’s fit, I don’t see… no, (I’m not comfortable with Frimpong at right-back).
“I’m interested to see what Arne Slot wants him to do.
Because right now, in my head, I’m thinking, ‘is he going to get in Salah’s way?’ That’s what I’m thinking.

“Defensively, it’s not good.
It’s just the same as Trent, he’s not that great a defender.
"Going forward he’s got different attributes to what Trent had but again, I keep ending up at the same thing, is he going to get in Salah’s way?
“I think absolutely, if everybody’s fit Bradley starts, I don’t think Frimpong starts.
