Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has admitted that he once played for Everton when he was a teenager — but has never said that publicly before.
Speaking on The Added Time podcast, Fowler outlined that while he has kept it quiet, he actually played a game for Liverpool's city rival as a teenager.
"I actually played a game for Everton.
I came on as a substitute; I was tiny when I was 14 and I think we won the game.
"So, I have actually worn a shirt for Everton.
I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone this, but I have worn an Everton shirt and won a game at Bellefield."
Fowler is not the only Liverpool legend to grow up as a Blue.
Ahead of Saturday's Merseyside derby at Anfield, Virgil van Dijk was asked whether he would speak to new signings like Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike about the Everton fixture and the unique challenge that it can present.
"Obviously you don't let them work it out for themselves," Van Dijk told reporters on Wednesday
"Do you ask that from David [Moyes]?" Slot replied when asked whether Isak will feature in the derby.
"I was positively surprised by how fit he was during that 60 minutes but that maybe, probably, tells you that it might be a difference to sign a 20-year-old from a different league or a 25 or 26-year-old that is used to playing in this league.
"Although he only trained for two weeks, he has so many games under his belt that he is probably more able to be ready for 60."
