Didi Hamann has slammed Bayern Munich for trying to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
The Bavarians had a £58.6m bid rejected by the Reds earlier this week, with both the Bundesliga giants and Barcelona having already seen approaches knocked back by the Premier League champions.
Liverpool are insistent that Diaz remains an important player under Arne Slot and that they do not wish to sell.
Such has been communicated clearly to all interested parties.
But that has not deterred Bayern from making a move for the Colombia international, with the Bavarians expected to return with an improved bid.

Diaz has reportedly informed Liverpool of his desire to leave, according to the Athletic, while he has spoken publicly about his future a number of times this summer.
The 28-year-old recently admitted his future is uncertain, though he also insisted he is happy at Liverpool.
Meanwhile, on international duty last month, he revealed he was in talks with other clubs and his future was in the Reds’ hands.
While Diaz admitted that he would welcome a new deal, Liverpool are relaxed about his situation and there has been no sign of the Reds offering him an extension on improved terms.
Online suggestions over Diaz's wage packet were robustly dismissed by club insiders last year and it's understood the attacker earns around £140,000 a week at Anfield.
With a new contract with the Reds seemingly not in the pipeline, it remains to be seen if Diaz will depart the club this summer.
Having seen his former club, Bayern, bid for the forward, Liverpool legend Hamann has criticised the Bundesliga giants’ transfer policy as he questioned the logic in trying to sign the Colombian.
"To now bring in Luis Diaz, a 28-year-old South American who played 50 games per season for four or five years and has those long flights home, which are also a problem,” he told Sky Germany.
“To pay 70 or 80 million for that, while the sale value is zero because he would be 32 at the end of his contract.
“I wonder what they even have the campus (academy) for?"
Liverpool insist they will not entertain any sale during this transfer window unless they are given an offer that would be deemed impossible to turn down.
Diaz now has two years left on his contract at Anfield, having joined the Reds in a £49m switch from FC Porto in January 2022.
