Liverpool have reportedly turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola amid frustration in their pursuit of Alexander Isak.



That has left Liverpool facing further delay in their pursuit of Isak, who is training separately from his Magpies team-mates while pushing for a move away from St.

James' Park.

Liverpool have seen a £110million bid turned down by Newcastle, who value Isak at closer to £150m.

Rather than let that cash burn a hole in their pocket while waiting for the right set of circumstances to arise, the Reds are believed to be weighing up bids for other targets.

They retain an interest in Isak and could yet go back in for him before the deadline, but L'Equipe claim that Merseyside club also have eyes on PSG star Barcola.

The 22-year-old hit double figures for goals and assists in Ligue 1 last season but he is not a guaranteed starter under Luis Enrique, who can also call on megastars like Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to fill his forward-line.

Liverpool are said to be long-term admirers of Barcola and that could work in their favour if it comes down to swaying him towards Anfield.

The youngster is already a full French international with 14 caps and two goals on his resume.

Real Madrid star Rodrygo also features on Liverpool's list of attacking targets as they look to put the cherry on top of what has already been a highly productive summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Barcola or Rodrygo will be Liverpool's final flourish, or whether a British record swoop for Isak will complete their splurge as they set about trying to defend their Premier League title.
