Liverpool have been linked with a move for one of La Liga’s most exciting youngsters.
The Reds were expected to be busy in the summer transfer market and the early signs point to that being the case.
They have already announced the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, and are close to agreeing deals that will bring Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz to Anfield.
There has also been links to Moroccan defender Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal.
Arne Slot’s side have reportedly submitted an offer to sign the Rennes man.
And now, a fresh report from Spain has linked Liverpool to the signing of Spanish winger Jesús Rodríguez.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Liverpool are among a host of Premier League clubs interested in the Real Betis man.
The 19-year-old has caught the eye of elite scouts this season after being introduced into Manuel Pellegrini’s first team in October.
Earlier in the season, we reported that the Reds sent scouts to watch Rodriguez in view of a potential summer transfer.
However, the latest report adds that Liverpool could lose out on the youngster, as Premier League rivals Aston Villa are now considering entering the race.
The report also reveals that Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have already sent in a €20 bid for the player.
Rodriguez finished this campaign with 32 official La Liga games, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
The Spaniard has a €35 million release clause and Real Betis are said to be “holding the auction for the player.
The 19-year-old recently renewed his contract until June 30, 2029, so the La Liga club have the upper hand in negotiations.
However, Betis need to raise funds this summer if they are to be able to re-sign Antony from Manchester United, and Rodriguez is one player that would allow money to be brought in.
