The transfer window may be shut but Liverpool are still preparing for the future.
The Reds have enjoyed a summer overhaul over the last few months, with fresh faces arriving to keep the club moving forward.
This has, sadly, meant that some big names have had to move on, although their replacements are more than capable of taking over.
However, one player who is simply irreplaceable is Mohamed Salah, although Liverpool will have to think about doing it at some point in the near future.
The Egyptian King has just two years left on his contract and it is unlikely he will sign an extension, as by then, he will be 35.
And, as good as Liverpool are at forward planning, they are already preparing to line up his replacement, with one player in particular strongly on their radar.

Whoever is tasked with replacing Salah certainly has big boots to fill, but in fact they are so big that there is not too much pressure in all honesty.
But, someone has to at least attempt it and Liverpool think they have found their man, with that being former Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

He has been linked with a move in the past but this story is starting to gain traction, with it likely to heat up in either the summer of 2026 or 2027.
But, journalist David Lynch has confirmed that the Frenchman is certainly a target, indicating that it might be one to watch out for.
“Yes he is definitely a player Liverpool like, I can’t vouch about the Bayern side in terms of that release clause that’s in his contract, but you just don’t doubt for a second that Liverpool would be in the mix for someone like Olise,” Lynch said on the Anfield Index YouTube channel.
“They are going to have to front up to the fact that Mo Salah isn’t going to be around forever, and I’d be amazed if this contract is anything but his last contract, still a couple years left at least.

“But Liverpool have to get ahead in getting a replacement, you look at Olise, Premier League experience, the age of him, the fact he’s just absolutely brilliant, he would be a really good fit.
“It’s too early to make any guarantees, but there is no question that he is on Liverpool’s radar.”
Of course, getting a like-for-like replacement for Salah is almost impossible, but there are players relatively similar.
Olise, however, is not really one of them as he is a little less direct and much more of a creator than goalscorer.
Similarly to Luis Diaz, the 23-year-old uses his pace and trickery to get the better of defenders, whereas Salah is direct before shooting at goal.
There is no denying he would be a good player to have, but using him as a direct replacement would raise some question marks.
The transfer window has only just shut but the fact Liverpool are already scheming might just be a good thing, but this is something fans should be keeping in the back of their minds as the season goes by.
