One of his assistants, John Heitinga, departed in the summer to become head coach of Ajax.
Aaron Briggs has now stepped up to take on set-piece responsibilities on a full-time basis after initially combining them with his other duties during his first season at the club.
Briggs is now officially recognised as Liverpool’s set-piece coach at the AXA Training Centre, while Giovanni van Bronckhorst arrived over the summer to replace Heitinga as assistant coach.
The Reds also recently confirmed Luiz Fernando Iubel as the club’s new individual lead coach, a role designed to help bridge the gap between the Academy and the first team.
The reshaping of Slot’s coaching staff is far from over.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are currently recruiting for both a physical performance analyst and a first-team physical performance coach as the Dutchman continues to strengthen his support team.
The analyst will be tasked with monitoring areas such as sleep hygiene and training loads, as well as carrying out wellness checks every two months.
They will also oversee individual recovery sessions and conduct pre- and post-training testing at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby.
During sessions, they will provide live GPS feedback on sprint drills and player movements, with the data helping to inform future training and rehabilitation programmes.
Meanwhile, the first-team physical performance coach will be expected to deliver “world-leading support” to both senior players and Academy prospects with high potential.
Their responsibilities will include tailoring and refining performance programmes for individual players, conducting monthly reviews, and analysing both pre-season and in-season testing results.
