It wasn't just Liverpool supporters who were all smiles inside Anfield on Wednesday night.

However, rarely has it been so obvious as on Wednesday - and, in the case of the treatment of the Nike logo, quite so amusing.

Under the ruling, Liverpool have been making such temporary changes inside Anfield for several years.

Fans who took to their seat early in the evening were left intrigued by the strange sight confronting them from the Anfield Road stand.

In the lower tier, the Nike logo had changed from a trademark swish to what appeared a face giving a cheeky sideways glance towards the away end.
