The transfer rumours at Liverpool are accelerating and they may have just had their busiest day yet.
After a period of downtime in the transfer market, things appear to have gone from zero to 100mph very quickly for the Reds, with recent activity having the potential to be season defining.
With the Premier League returning in exactly a month’s time, Liverpool are doing all they can to ensure they have the players they need to hit the ground running.
Retaining the title is one of the hardest jobs to do, but if they sign the players they have been linked with, then they will be the standout favourites to lift the trophy once again.
Here is a round-up of what’s been reported on Tuesday.

Starting off with the biggest news of the summer, even trumping Liverpool’s move for Florian Wirtz, and the Reds have made their first move for striker Alexander Isak.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool have an approach for Isak, talking to Newcastle to discuss a record-bid for their star man.
Newcastle are said to be more willing to sell the 25-year-old this summer after previously outright refusing, perhaps as they step up their interest in Hugo Ekitike.
The Reds have all-but given the Magpies an ultimatum to strengthen their position; they either sign Isak in the coming weeks, with the fee likely to be at least £120m, or they will buy Newcastle’s target, Ekitike, instead.

Luis Diaz has been rumoured with a move away for a while but Tuesday marked the most significant day in his saga, with Bayern Munich having a £58.5m bid rejected by Liverpool as soon as it came in.
The Reds know that Bayern have money to spend after previously trying for Florian Wirtz, with the Bundesliga giants shooting themselves in the foot by showing their cards too early.

However, this bid is just the start as Bayern are already preparing another offer, with Liverpool holding out for around £87m, even if that does seem unrealistic.
Arne Slot still sees the Colombian as an integral part of his plans next season, but with Diaz open to a move, this will be one to watch.

Harvey Elliott is another player who is, arguably, more out than in at this moment in time, and there seems to be no way back into the team for him.
West Ham are ‘100 per cent’ interested in signing Elliott, although the player himself is not ‘sold on the idea’ of moving to the London Stadium.
The Hammers will contact Elliott in the next week to discuss a move, although his £40m-£50m price tag could also prove too steep for them.
Elsewhere, Thierry Henry has told Liverpool fans what to expect from Jean-Philippe Mateta if they sign him, and Ibrahima Konate looks set to depart on a free transfer next summer.
