Liverpool have officially made a bid to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer, with negotiations reportedly progressing well between the two Premier League clubs.

Following the departure of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, Liverpool have freed up significant funds and are prepared to invest heavily in acquiring the 25-year-old Sweden international striker. The Reds intend to use the money earned from Diaz’s sale to help finance the deal for Isak.

Newcastle are understood to be seeking a transfer fee in the region of £150 million for Isak, but Liverpool are aiming to negotiate the fee down to around £130 million. The player himself is said to be hopeful that an agreement can be reached soon, showing willingness to move to Anfield for a long-term contract that reportedly would offer a salary comparable to Liverpool’s new forward Hugo Ekitiké.

However, Newcastle have already rejected an initial bid of over £100 million from Liverpool, indicating the price expectation remains high. The Magpies are also reportedly looking to sign Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart as a replacement for Isak, although Manchester United is also interested in the German forward.
