Liverpool have held provisional talks with Borussia Monchengladbach over the possibility of a summer move for Florian Neuhaus, according to reports.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen on adding reinforcements in the middle of the park ahead of next season, with the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum leaving Liverpool in need of new blood.

Brighton and Hove Albion's Yves Bissouma has also been mentioned in connection with a move, but Liverpool have reportedly baulked at the Seagulls' lucrative asking price, which is believed to be in the region of £50million.

Neuhaus, who remains under contract until the summer of 2024, has also been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

He rose through the academy ranks at 1860 Munich before sealing his move to Gladbach on a free transfer in 2017.

The club's sporting director Max Eberl previously suggested that Neuhaus would not be allowed to leave this summer, but it remains to be seen whether his position will change between now and the end of the transfer window.
