Liverpool have reportedly decided on Colombian forward Luis Diaz, as his future at Anfield continues to remain uncertain.

Diaz has been in the news recently due to reports about a potential summer move from the Merseyside club.

Spanish giants FC Barcelona were strongly interested in signing him for the left-wing role.



However, Diaz seemingly doesn’t want to leave Europe just yet — and that may be the reason no deal has progressed between the clubs.

Earlier reports suggested Diaz was only interested in joining Barcelona if he left the Premier League champions this summer.

But the Catalan club have now made a strong move for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams instead, with his €58m release clause making him a more affordable and younger option.

With that, Liverpool were forced to decide on Diaz’s future.

According to David Ornstein, the Merseyside club are now planning to keep Luis Diaz, whose contract runs until 2027.

Despite having two years left on his deal, the club currently have no intention of offering him a new contract.

Liverpool are reportedly fine with keeping him until his contract ends, even if he leaves as a free agent.

Manager Arne Slot seems to want Diaz in his squad next season, especially after his strong performance in the 2024/25 season.

Diaz scored 17 goals in all competitions and helped the Reds win the Premier League title.

He also showcased his versatility by playing both as a left winger and centre forward throughout the season.
