Liverpool have made an opening proposal to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer, according to David Ornstein
The Reds have already bolstered their squad this summer with the purchases of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
They are now keen on landing a marquee striker and Ornstein reports that the Reds are reportedly prepared to pay around £120 million for Isak.
The Merseyside outfit have not made a formal offer on the table, but are looking at the possibility of signing him for the reported figure. If the Magpies were to respond in the negative, the Reds could focus on signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike instead.
Ekitike has emerged as a top target for the Magpies in the last 24 hours, but the Reds could hijack the pursuit if Isak stays at Tyneside.
