Earlier today, German outlet BILD reported that Liverpool had made a fresh offer to Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz.
The 22-year-old German international has already agreed personal terms with the Reds and is reportedly ready to “jump into a private jet” to finalize his five-year contract at Anfield.
The breakthrough in Liverpool’s pursuit of Wirtz came after the attacking midfielder made his intentions clear to all parties involved.
Reportedly, on May 23, Wirtz confirmed to Bayern Munich that he would be moving to Liverpool instead of joining the German champions/
The urgency surrounding these negotiations has intensified as Wirtz is eager to have the deal concluded before joining Germany’s UEFA Nations League squad on June 2.
German publication BILD reports that the midfielder is expected to sign a contract until 2030, with only final negotiations on the transfer fee remaining to be resolved.
Now the Athletic’s David Ornstein has confirmed the details of this bid, reporting that the Anfield club have now tabled a breathtaking €130million bid to try and get their man:
“Liverpool have submitted an offer to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen worth up to €130million (£109m) in total,” he wrote.
“It is said by sources privy to the situation — speaking anonymously to protect relationships — to be an improved second bid form the newly-crowned Premier League champions.”
“The proposed figure is a top-end amount, comprised of a guaranteed fee and potential add-ons.”
