Liverpool is NOT currently interested in signing Kevin De Bruyne this summer.
Sensational reports emerged on Wednesday linking the Manchester City midfielder with a free transfer to Liverpool.
De Bruyne, 33, is one of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history, having won six league titles under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
City has confirmed De Bruyne will leave the club at the end of this season, with several top teams likely to be interested in signing him on a free transfer.
De Bruyne was a boyhood Liverpool fan and has previously admitted to liking Anfield "a lot." The Belgium international is also good friends with Reds skipper Virgil van Dijk.
But according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, the Reds will not sign De Bruyne this summer as things stand.
That's despite the midfielder being "good friends" with several members of Liverpool's roster.
De Bruyne's contract at City expires at the end of next month.
Teams in Saudi Arabia and the United States have been linked with the player, but there's every chance he will move to one of City's European rivals and continues his career in the Champions League.
De Bruyne leaves Manchester as a City legend.
As well as winning six Premier League titles, the experienced star has also won five League Cups, two FA Cups, and the Champions League at City, among other honors.
The former Chelsea and Wolfsburg star is a two-time Premier League Player of the Season and has won the division's Playmaker of the Season prize three times, given to the leading assist maker.
