Xavi Valero has replaced the duo, having worked for the Reds in 2007 under Rafael Benitez before going on to spend time at Chelsea, Real Madrid and West Ham.

Taffarel’s exit will be a hammer blow to Alisson, who previously recommended for the Reds to approach him – and former head of goalkeeping John Achterberg even revealed last year that if the coach was not at Liverpool then he wouldn’t have been shocked to see the Brazilian star depart.
