Alexander Isak has been Liverpool’s number one target for as long as many can remember.
One of the main problems behind Isak joining Liverpool is that Eddie Howe hasn’t been able to sign a suitable replacement for the Sweden international.
“Newcastle have identified Jean-Philippe Mateta as a top target should Alexander Isak depart,” he wrote.

If it isn’t already abundantly clear, it’s evident that Isak wants to become a Liverpool player.
The striker has been the Anfield outfit’s number one target for some time now, and even though Ekitike made a more than solid name for himself during the Community Shield defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday, another attacking option would be useful.
Of course, these are all just ifs, buts and maybes at the moment, but for now, a move for Isak feels like a fairly logical move, especially if Mateta is on Newcastle’s radar.
