Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton has completed a move to Lyon.
Morton cuts ties with the club he joined at the age of seven in a deal which will be worth up to £15 million for the Premier League champions.
A 20 per cent sell-on clause has also been negotiated with Ligue 1 outfit.
He was part of England’s under-21 team which won the European Championship this summer but leaves Anfield amid limited opportunities.
The 22-year-old made just 14 appearances in total for the Reds either side of loan spells with Championship outfits Blackburn Rovers and Hull City.
Due to the currently calibre of midfield options in Arne Slot’s side, Morton’s first-team prospects would have been further diminished moving forward.
In addition to first-choice figures, the Wirral native would find himself behind a returning Stefan Bajcetic as well as James McConnell and Luca Stephenson.
Fellow academy graduate Trey Nyoni has also pushed Morton further down the pecking order as a potential full-time member of Liverpool’s senior squad.
