Liverpool have made a bold statement this summer, topping the list of Europe’s biggest spenders with over £263million invested in new signings during this transfer window.
FSG have shown strong support for head coach Arne Slot, who led the Reds to their 20th Premier League title in the 2024/25 season.
The Reds are determined to solidify their status as the best team in England.
Liverpool look set to enter the new season with a significantly stronger squad, positioning themselves to mount serious challenges in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
With Luis Diaz having departed for Bayern Munich and ongoing uncertainty over the long-term futures of Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa at Anfield, further reinforcements will be essential before the transfer deadline.
Tyler Morton becomes the latest player to exit the club after completing a permanent move to Olympique Lyonnais.
The 22-year-old completed his medical on Monday and has signed a long-term deal.
The Reds rejected interest from Bayer Leverkusen last season for the 22-year-old, who has two years left on his contract.
He was part of England’s Under-21 European Championship-winning squad this summer.
He has racked up 13 appearances for the U-21 side.
Morton progressed through the Liverpool academy and has made 14 senior appearances for the club.
Last season, he made five appearances across all competitions.
He spent the 2023-24 season on loan in the Championship with Hull City, having previously spent the prior campaign on loan at fellow second-tier side Blackburn Rovers.
He recently opened up about his feelings of frustration last season regarding his lack of game time.
“Definitely, I think it’s been the toughest season mentally for me,” he said.
“Obviously, I’ve coped with it very well because I’ve got good people around me, but it’s been very tough.
“When you’re not playing, your confidence sort of gets shut down a little bit so it’s nice to come back and play here (with England Under-21s)?
I think I’ve coped with it as well as I possibly could.”
