Liverpool are not messing about in their summer clear out it seems.
Jarell Quansah is on the verge of completing a move to Bayer Leverkusen, with the Anfield club set to a fee that could rise to £35M.
Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez has given his greenlight to Napoli while Federico Chiesa is also expected to make a move back to Serie A to stake a place in the Italy national tea,
But it seems that the clear-out is not limited to first-team players.
Welsh Premier League side The New Saints FC have announced that they have signed Liverpool midfielder Dominic Corness this summer.
The 22-year-old joins the Welsh Cymru Premier champions on a free transfer after his contract expired at Liverpool at the end of this past season.
Corness joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of five, rising through the youth ranks to sign his first professional contract with the club in February 2021.
He captained Liverpool’s under-21 side and made his senior debut in a friendly against Lyon during the 2022 Dubai Super Cup tour.
Seeking regular first-team football, he spent the 2023–24 season on loan at Swiss side Yverdon-Sport and continued his development with a subsequent spell at EFL League Two club Gillingham, where he featured consistently in the second half of the 2024–25 campaign.
It is reported that he turned down a contract offer from the Anfield club to pursue his own career.
Speaking about his move, the 22-year-old said:
“It’s a fantastic club with a great history of success, and I’m really proud to be joining.”
“From the moment I heard about the opportunity, I knew it was the right move for me?
”
“I can’t wait to meet the lads, get started with training, and do everything I can to help the team achieve its goals this season.”
