After winning their first three games of the season under Arne Slot, Liverpool senior players joined their national team colleagues during the current international break.

The Reds had a total 20 senior players called up for international duty this month, along with nine other youngsters and loanees.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are captains of their national team, so they play a huge role for their nations.

However, the international break has not been a smooth sailing for some Liverpool stars.

Alexis Mac Allister, for example, has been unable to train with the Argentina national team amid an injury scare.

His coach, Lionel Scaloni recently revealed why the 25-year-old has not trained with the squad, ahead of their game against Chile tomorrow.

Mac Allister is not not the only Liverpool player that is having an injury scare with their national team.

Harvey Elliott is another player with a potential injury scare.

The 21-year-old was joined the England under-21 squad’s camp for the Young Lion’s upcoming games.

However, he has withdrawn from the squad due to an issue and has now returned to Liverpool for ‘further medical assessment’

Liverpool and Arne Slot will be hoping that the issue is nothing serious for Elliott, who has played just seven minutes of league action this season.

Although the attacking midfielder may have played very few minutes for Slot this season, the new Liverpool coach rates the England youngster highly after Elliott’s impressive form during the club’s pre-season.
