Liverpool are already working on their next signing, with just under three weeks remaining before the window closes.

Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes will need to move quickly if they are to add more players for this season’s Premier League title defence.

Work is already underway to address one of the main concerns to emerge this summer, with the Reds aiming to sign not just one, but two new centre-backs – including Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi.

Meanwhile, speculation over Harvey Elliott’s future has intensified in recent days, with RB Leipzig reportedly pushing to sign the England youth international.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool midfielder Luca Stephenson is set to sign a new deal at Anfield before joining Dundee United on a season-long loan.

Stephenson enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Dundee United last season, making 34 appearances, scoring three goals, and providing two assists.

His standout performances earned him the club’s Young Player of the Season award and attracted interest from several sides this summer.

Championship outfit Swansea City, along with League One clubs Cardiff City, Reading, and Rotherham United, were keen on his services, while Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen even considered a permanent move.

The 21-year-old also featured regularly for Liverpool during pre-season, impressing the senior coaching staff on the club’s tour of the Far East, particularly when filling in at right-back.

Stephenson joined Liverpool from Sunderland at under-15 level, rising through the academy ranks before spending the 2023/24 campaign on loan at League Two side Barrow.
